Video Test Notes
1st run, #5 (18.4°/3.5") - Nice turns, OK
2nd run, #11 (30°/3.5") - Worked well, nice turns, felt good
3rd run, #14 (40°/3.5") - Can feel now how "slow" works, how heavy vs. light feels, definite differences, now doesn't feel so great compared directly to #11
After a few runs down the steeper hill, it was clear I needed better brakes. After looking at the flea market, I went to a bike shop and bought a brand-new set of calipers and the longest cable they had.
It took longer to make than I'd feared, and required some rework along the way, but now I have decent brakes and can actually stop in an emergency.
Along with better brakes, I bought some cheap 1x2 pine strips and combined them with recycled parts to make an adjustable camera mount that worked better than imagined. At the test site I was able to set the whole thing up in about two minutes.
