ProjectVF - April 2007

Kinetic testing for the suspension research hasn't resumed (yet), but with new 3D CAD skills I was able to create drawings of various parts to design the front suspension. This fairly simple drawing gives a good preview of the bike.

At the rear, I suspected there was a problem between drive chain and the seat supports.

The swingarm pivot was examined for any contact of the chain with the frame. After some measurements and thought, the pivot was slightly adjusted. Now the frame extension can be designed and welded, and another step completed.

Spring has reluctantly returned to the Rocky Mountains, and with it came the end of 18 months of semi-retirement. My new employer keeps me busy working 55-60 hours each week, which cuts into time for more important things such as ProjectVF. Despite all this, the work continues.
