My initial plan was to use a rope and pulley-based steering system to eliminate all changes in leverage while measuring the forces required to turn the wheel, but in May and June of 2007 I tried several time to ride the Test Mule and couldn't control it. As a result I added little handlebars and connected them to the front fork via a drag link and was finally able to steer. After some practice , I conducted a series of kinetic tests using the new steering, first down a fairly shallow hill, then down a longer, steeper grade. Click on any link below to view that day's test data.
